Based in South Africa, Bohochic sells novelty minimalist items sourced by its co-founders, ESL educator Trecia Makhubele and journalist Rutendo Masasi.
BohoChic South Africa was founded at Rhodes University in 2016. Rutendo Masasi and Trecia Makhubele (Rue and Trish) are Rhodes University graduates who started their venture during their studies.
The name BohoChic is derived from “bohemian”, meaning unconventional and “chic”, meaning style.
From baby shower gifts to minimalist bedroom decor, BohoChic offers products to enhance and blend in with a variety of lifestyles, from the straight and narrow to the ‘misfit’.
Through their academic and work experience, Trish and Rue aim to present South Africans with BohoChic SA, a platform that informs readers and offers thoughtfully sourced novelty items.
